Propagation Checker

The Propagation Checker queries 30+ global DNS resolvers in real time and shows you which ones have your new record — and which ones are still serving the old value.

How to run a check

  1. 1

    Enter your domain

Type or paste your domain name into the search field — for example, example.com. Do not include https:// or a trailing slash.

  2. 2

    Choose a record type

Select the DNS record type you want to check using the pill buttons below the input: A, AAAA, CNAME, MX, TXT, NS, SOA, or CAA. A is selected by default.

  3. 3

    Click Check

Results stream in within seconds. Each resolver card turns green (record matches), amber (record differs), or red (no response / timeout).

Reading the results

Match— this resolver has your new record value.
Mismatch— this resolver has a different value (old record or wrong data).
Timeout / Error— no response within 10 seconds. Try re-checking.

The summary bar shows the propagation percentage — calculated from resolvers that actually responded. A result of 80%+ generally means propagation is nearly complete. Full propagation can take up to 48 hours depending on your TTL.

Sharing a snapshot

After a check completes, a shareable link is generated automatically. Copy it from the address bar or use the Share button to send the results to a colleague or support team.

Snapshot TTL
Free vs Pro

Free account snapshots expire after 7 days. Pro subscribers get permanent links that never expire.
